The Coming Ice Age

The American Thinker has a thought-provoking article here, about the dangers inherent in ignoring the geological record regarding climate changes.

Ninety per cent of the last million years have been ice ages. Specifically, these periods are marked by low sunspot activity. Scientists tell us we are entering a period of very low activity.

See what you think.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! The Glacier is coming to get US... at .002 MPH! RUN!

Ok.. so a glacier can outrun a snail right now as they are growing back.. MatSu has gotten a tad larger since the last time I was out there. We will see is Exit is any larger this summer as well.

I don't believe in global anything. I am more a cycles person.

Absolutely correct, although the cycles do tend to be global in effect. You probably know that geologists have found fossilized palm trees in the Anchorage silt. It has, at one time, been quite warm here.

Since the earth has been cooling since 1998, it appears that now it's going to get colder. Okay, so it gets colder.

"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! The Glacier is coming to get US... at .002 MPH! RUN!"

Heh. I wasn't aware it was that fast ...

I'm so confused. Should I be worried about "Global Warming" or "Global Cooling." Confusing my little mind is an easy thing. Why can't Al Gore and his buddies make up there minds? I'm just a simple guy and can't take all this confusion. Are things heating up or cooling down? Does science not have all the answears?

Looks like I'm gonna clinge tighter to my guns and hold on tight to our savior Jesus Christ since he is always a strait shooter and doesn't change his mind about whats happening.

Lucky, I saw an article yesterday about a leaked Congressional memo wherein the Justice Dept. was questioning the "lack of science" in the global warming legislation. They have now effectively admitted it's not scientific: it's political.

We all knew that already; and the percentage of the population that notes the distinct lack of warming is ever-increasing. As you noted, science has very few answers.

An unbiased look at temperature charts shows that the Earth has been cooling since 1998. Winter is more severe, with snowstorms in places that don't normally see snow, etc.

Don't be confused; trust in Jesus, and let Him be Lord of the situation.

I will continue to trust in him. One of the things that bothers me about some of my peers here in college is that they believe truth is relative to each person.

That is a bogus statement. Our Savior said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." I take part of this to mean that there is absolute truth in this world and it is not for me to decide what that truth is but to figure out what God's truth is and conform my life around his truth. This nosense about everyone having their own truth is a ploy by satan to quietly lead men and women to hell.

The personal definition of faith I have is that faith is betting my life there is a God and that I can come to know what kind of person God is by looking at his son Jesus Christ.

There is truth, it never changes. It has remained the same since the foundation of our world and I will cling to that truth more than I ever will cling to some person who can't figure out if things are heating up or cooling down or that, "Hey maybe, the temprature just changes from day to day, week to week, month to month and year to year."

Yep, I know all about the palms and some other "tropical" and the interesting wood "chips" found in ANWR, Prudhoe and even Kotzebue, but these are not fossilized. If you are ever interested in seeing some, I can get a hold of someone so you can look at them. He wouldn't mind showing them...

Yeah the "RUN" factor was funny. Or in my mind it was. I may do an alternative energy post. We will see.
