Morning in the Great Land

(The Native name for Alaska - Alyeska - means "great land".)

It's cloudy, but with some sun, and 47 degrees this morning. The warmish temp is due to the cloud cover; the weather gnomes at AccuHunch predict a return to cooler weather beginning tomorrow.

There's not much on our agenda today: a trip to Wally World, a bit o' laundry, maybe a trip to the local Ace hardware store, which is going out of business. We don't know whether they have anything desirable remaining in stock, but we can't find that out without dropping by.

I couldn't see whether the snow was still on the mountains, yesterday, or if the day's warm southern winds & rain had melted it. The clouds were just low enough that the peaks which had been covered were no longer visible. Even if the snow is gone, though, it'll return soon enough. It is that time of year.

The only other task to which I must attend is getting the snow tires put on the cars. That will need to be done in the next week or two.

The fledgling history book club which Jenny and I have formed (that sounds so formal) will meet tomorrow, at some point. A couple of other folks are scheduled to be in attendance; I've not met either of them before. It'll be fun.
