The
first picture was taken downtown, at the start of the 2006 Iditarod
race, and just happens to have me in it. I'm on the roof of the brown building, in the blue jacket. (You'll have
to click for big.)
The moose in the front yard is the one which gave rise to the URL for this blog.
The pyramidal mountain along the highway is in Wasilla.
The mountains here are from my bedroom window, several years ago. Those branches had grown to the point that I couldn't get a decent shot anymore, although I get excellent close-ups of the branches. But the worst of the offenders is the one that blew over in last September's hurricane-force winds, and was cut down. They're visible again, which I enjoy.
This last picture is the driveway to the place we first stayed when we moved here ten years ago.
Have I mentioned how much I love Alaska?
And a happy St. Patrick's Day from this Scots-Irish-English mongrel to all of you!

Beautiful...you're one lucky man.
Stephen, you're right. We're thankful every day for being here.
It's a beautiful place you're in Rev. Happy St. Patrick's to you as well!
Agreed, Sarge - we're till blown away by how blessed we are.
Good ones, and if it was just a 'tad' warmer... :-D
Understood, sir - those are all winter-time pix. I'll pull out some summer scenery soon.
Truely G-ds country.
Indeed, Simple Man. Indeed it is.
Whoa. The view from your window?! Wow.
Does that peak have a name?
And . . . will it maintain some snow all year long?
Cathy, it has a name ... which I've forgotten, dang it. It's only about 4,500 feet, so the snow goes away in summer.
Cathy, I think it's North Suicide Peak, at just over 5,000 feet.
