Gun Control: A Fringe Issue?

According to yesterday's Gallup Poll, only 4 percent of Americans think gun control is an important issue.

Their results:

Respondents answered in the following order:

Economy in general                                   24%
Unemployment/Jobs                                  18%
Dissatisfaction with Government                16%
Federal budget deficit/Federal debt             11%
Healthcare                                                   6%
Ethical/Moral/Family decline                        5%
Immigration/Illegal aliens                              4%
Education                                                    4%
Guns/Gun control                                      4% (emphasis added)

Situation with North Korea                            4%
Lack of Money                                             3%
Welfare                                                         2%
Lack of respect for each other                       2%
Poverty/Hunger/Homelessness                       2%
Foreign aid/Focus overseas                           2%
Taxes                                                            2%

So.

It brings up a question:  why is Congress still trying to disarm us, if practically no one wants it?

Any answer you come up with will be unsatisfactory.

It's senators who face challenges in their next elections and need the votes of densely populated liberal enclaves.

It's politics.

Lies, lies and damn lies are all that are coming from the left... sigh They DO NOT want to deal with real issues!

Cathy, I find myself not caring as much about why the Dems voted to preserve our rights, as about why 46 Senators voted to strip them away.

NFO, I concur. Can't trust any of them, or so it would seem.
