The USS Anchorage Will Be Here Tomorrow for Commissioning Ceremony

From KTUU-TV, Anchorage:

A new Navy ship named after Alaska’s largest city is a few days away from its arrival here, with plans to offer scheduled public tours for two days before it is commissioned at the Port of Anchorage.

Lindsey Whitt, a spokesperson for Mayor Dan Sullivan’s office, says the USS Anchorage is en route and expected to arrive at about 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1. The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, designated LPD-23, is meant to support landing operations, launching boats and hovercraft from a floodable aft well deck, as well as helicopters from its upper flight deck.

Looks like two Daleks have taken up residence topside.
