Plane Crash Near Cantwell Kills Three

A plane carrying at least three passengers has crashed about four miles away from Summit Airport. (Alaska Department of Transportation / June 28, 2013)
From KTUU Channel 2 News:

A Friday evening dispatch by Alaska State Troopers released additional details about the plane crash that killed three people near Mile 195.5 of the Parks Highway.

“A Division of Forestry employee discovered the downed plane while investigating a possible wildland fire that was ultimately caused by the crash,” AST wrote in a dispatch. “The remains of three people there were reported to be onboard the twin-engine Beech Baron aircraft when it took off from Fairbanks this morning were found in the crash.”

... The crash left a debris field estimated to be 500 to 700 feet long.
