Updates

In my posts about Sunday's trip to the range, I neglected to mention that the M1 and the AK47 were supplied by one of the Appleseed instructors with whom Older Daughter works. They're not mine, sadly (although an M1 is definitely a temptation).  It was not my intention to mislead; for that, I apologize.

Lt. Governor Mead Treadwell (R) has announced he'll run against Mark Begich (D) in next year's election.

It's been quite warm over the last few days, with some of the warmest temps we've seen here in years. It was 77 in Anchorage on Sunday, 80 yesterday, and supposed to reach the low 80s today. That's pushing the limits of comfort for all us thick-blooded Alaskans, who are much more comfy at 70. But the heat wave (such as it is) is supposed to break after tomorrow, with temps around 70 for the next few days thereafter.

70's sound nice. Been upper 80's here with humidity so bad you can see the air. We missed that for the most part last year. I had almost forgotten how oppressive the hot and rainy season can be here.

I hear you, Preppy. We haven't forgotten the oppressive heat & humidity of St. Louis summers ... nor do we miss it. It's not usually humid here, except in the wee morning hours.

80' pushes the limit for us Ohioans!

Cathy, I wouldn't have known that. I've never liked hot weather, but it often gets above 110 in the St. Louis area. I prefer 70 in summer.
