That's the beauty part, NFO - I don't have to pay the guards: they can all the loiterers they can eat.

We have black bears here all the time.
"Junior"(that's what we named him) was with his mama and two others last year, lives in our nearby woods. So far he hasn't done any damage as he roams around. Mama and the other ones haven't been seen yet this year.

Chickenmom, as long as they don't lose their fear of humans, it's not such a big deal. But Anchorage winds up having to shoot several blackies every year.

The browns bears/grizzlies tend to stay away from people; the blackies, not so much.

The bears from the SW part of Missouri are slowly moving this way. There have been a few sightings in my county but so far none by me. I live in fear they will make it this far. Fear for my bee hives!!!!

I hear you, Preppy. The blackies here are the least of our worries. The brown bears are usually in the 600-700 lb range, and can do a lot more damage.

But yes, your honey would be a powerful attraction.
