Winter's Coming (Updated)

Up here, anyway.

The weather service is forecasting 5" of snow for the Brooks Mtn. range outside of Fairbanks tonight. That city may see its first frost tonight.

We've got leaves turning and littering the ground, but no overnight lows in the 30s yet. But give it about three more weeks, and that will change.

Town Square, downtown Anchorage

UPDATE: The Old Farmer's Almanac, which claims an 80% accuracy rate, predicts we'll have "heavy snow" for the second week of October. So now we know. :)

Leaves are turning and falling here and we're looking at lows in the 40's for the next couple of nights.

I'm ready for it, personally.

Stephen, I keep saying you folks need to visit Alaska. I'd love to drive you around for a day.

Matt, we've been having 40s for awhile now, but I think it did get down to 39 one night.

Rev. Paul,

Hopefully there will just be a couple of inches falling tonight for ya'll.

We will be in the 60's tonight, nice and comfy :-)

The leaves are falling all over here. I feel winter creeping upon us.

No snow in our forecast for about 3 or 4 weeks. (All predictions subject to change.)
