Common Sense Isn't Dead

Many of you will remember the story of how when Sarah Palin became Governor & took on a group of Alaska legislators who called themselves the "Corrupt Bastards Club". Several of them eventually went to jail. At the same time, the FBI investigated several cases of bribery involving legislators and an Anchorage engineering firm which has since gone out of business.

One of the legislators who was convicted of accepting bribes recently ran for a seat on the Wasilla City Council (apparently there's no law against a felon holding elected office).

The voters showed good sense & defeated him.

On a side note, I'm thoroughly tired of legislators (at ALL levels of government) whose only discernible skill is running for, and being elected to, public office. At least for now, it's not just me.

Well done, Valley voters.  Well done!

It's not dead but it's seemingly on life support in most areas

That's true, I'm sad to say.
