This and That

It's only -7° this morning; this must be the warm-up of which AccuHunch spoke.

Actually, they guess we'll be in the mid-20s tomorrow. They may even be right. Of course, they said we'd get up to 10 degrees yesterday, but it never got above zero at my house.

On the other hand, even if they're guessing 10 degrees too warm, that would mean temps in the mid-teens ... which is still warmer than we've been in several days.

My wife has Pandora is quiet Christmas music this morning. The current track is called "The Stone Angel", and the first thing I thought of was "Don't blink!"

Whovians* will get that. :)

I have big plans for today, like changing the strings on my guitar, and reading. Oh yes, and having another cup of coffee.

But coffee comes first.

All y'all have a wonderful, safe day out there - and thanks for stopping by.

Didn't know you played, what sort of guitar is it?

Bob - I've been playing since '69. It's the 2006 Collector's Edition from Ovation, made from koa wood.

Sounds like a perfectly lovely way to spend the day.

We have a jazz channel on Pandora starting with Oscar Peterson and then adding really old jazz players. We stuck with instrumental because it's easier to have as background music without vocals.

We also listen to the WGBH app (it's free). They have The Jazz Decades channel that runs 24/7 now. It's terrific to tune into Ray Smith whenever we want :)

I don't listen to much music and I'm not any type of audiophile, but I will always regret never meeting Ray in person. What a delightful radio host he was. At least he lived to be 87 and continued to do shows up until the end. Many years of music from him. :)

Teresa, understood; we insist on instrumental music for the same reason.
