A Little Bit o' This ...

and even less o' that.

The freak warm spell continues; we begin to worry about bears waking up, now. Meanwhile, the rapidly diminishing ground cover (snow) is causing avalanches and flooding in various places.

Local news:  ... no injuries in a house fire ... the twin polar bears at the Anchorage Alaska Zoo celebrated their annual birthday (go figure!) ... there's a story about a man who roughed up his gal after pulling a gun on her, tried to run from the cops and crashed, then shot himself in the head. He didn't survive ... and a story about a local junior-high band teacher who's formed a drumline group. The writer allows as how it's noisy.

It's of passing interest to local residents; can't imagine it's all that interesting to you.

Sorry.

Our good weather related news is the high mountain snowpack is at or above 100% normal, and many lower elevation reservoirs are close to full. Should be a good year for agriculture. Very mild winter here on the Front Range Colorado.

That's a GOOD thing. I'm glad you're getting the moisture you need.

Well if the bears wake up hungry and come looking for you guys it could become really interesting :)

I am only thinking of you though.

"Interesting" is a good word for it ... and I get your drift. :)

Rev. Paul,

Not good for the bears to wake early from hibernation. Residents need to be very careful. I'm hoping you're not getting this flooding mentioned in the news.
Weather has once again changed to extreme cold here.

The only flooding in Anchorage so far is along creeks in low-lying areas; some basements filling up, too. The upside-down weather continues...

We are getting more snow today and it's supposed to be around zero tonight. Winter... we got it. You may have to move to the lower 48 for your dose of cold ;)

That's a sad commentary, right there.
