At Last

We've finally returned to normal winter temps, with it being only 9° F. at my house this morning.
But the warm spell wreaked its own damage.

A month ago, we had 24" of packed snow on the ground, and now that's down to 5" or less ... where there's any snow at all. Areas that got sun are now bare.

There's very little of import in the local news, and the national news is already familiar to you, so my commentary this morning is limited to "Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by."

Well . . . Happy Frigid ! . . Rev. Paul.
That wouldn't pass as a kindly greeting here in Ohio . . . but you Alaskans are made of different better insulated stuff :)

Well, let's just say we're used to life in a cooler climate, so 9° to us is like 30° to you.

And did I mention we have really good coats? :)

We got our ice storm so now everything is covered with glass but the temps are not bad 30 degrees. The house stays warm and comfy when it's 30 outside.

Hopefully, your temps will climb above freezing for long enough to melt the ice. Those are no fun, and one of the things about the Midwest that I don't miss at all.

Thank you for sharing temps. We are in our "normal" temps now too. Its about 10* with an air temp of -7* and wind chill of -10* Got a little snow on the ground, about 4" which is not really normal, but we'll take what we get. Its a very dry, grainy snow, but boy when it hits the roads, as warm as its been, it turns into a sheet of solid ice.
Stay warm*

Rev. Paul,

If the snow, and temperatures don't make it back to the norm there. Come over this way, I have space for you, your sweet wife, and girls. We are more than willing to share our temperatures and upcoming snow :-)
Maybe some trout too!!!

You're welcome, my friend. Normal temps feel much better than the weird 40s we were having. We need a couple feet of snow between now & the end of the month, to facilitate the sled dog races. In previous years, canceling the Iditarod would have seemed impossible, but now ..?

Sandy, that's awfully sweet of you, but we'll stay put here in Alaska. Srsly, the flatlands make us nervous.

The trout sounds good, though. We'd have to contribute salmon and halibut, of course! :)
