Gun Saves Life: Passer-By Fired Warning Shot to Halt Stabbing

From the Daily News:

A 73-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his wife during an argument is being held on suspicion of attempted murder, police said Thursday.

Anchorage police arrested John Marshall Bagley on Wednesday evening. At 6:36 p.m., a woman called police to report her husband had stabbed her, police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said in an email.

Police said the incident began when the woman and her husband, identified as Bagley, got in a verbal fight inside their home in the 13000 block of Back Road in South Anchorage.

The woman left the home, and Bagley followed her into the backyard area, Castro said. She then slipped and fell on ice, and Bagley began to stab her as she was lying on the ground, Castro said.

At that point, a neighbor who was walking by saw the stabbing and fired a gun into the air to get Bagley's attention, Castro said. That stopped Bagley, and the neighbor gave verbal commands until police came moments later and took Bagley into custody, Castro said.

The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and is in critical but stable condition, Castro said.

Bagley will be arraigned Thursday afternoon.

Wasn't 2 shotgun blasts through the door that saved her?

Nope; "Plugs" Biden's advice wasn't used at all.
