Dadgumit, I miss all the fun.
Stephen, we have more 'quakes here every day than the rest of the U.S. combined. And I keep invitin' all y'all to come up and see us...
I am boycotting Alaska until it takes it's weather back :)
Preppy, we're done with winter until October.
Okay, that was mean. But seriously ... :)
I hadn't heard that stat about your earthquake events equalling the rest of the country. Hmmm.. . .
I guess a '5' on the Richter scale is a good rumble?
Yow! Glad you are safe!
Cathy, a 5.0 is respectable, without being destructive. At least that's true for us, here where the earthquake building code is one of the strictest (if not the strictest) in the country. It's enough to rattle cabinets & cause shelved items to slide around, a bit.
Thanks, threecollie.
I've experienced two earthquakes - the first I was laying in bed, heard a "womph!" and everything jiggled. The other was an increasing vibration that, when I realized it wasn't stopping, caused me to run out into the yard. That one was quite enough to make me decided that I don't need to experience any more of them.
I understand, PH; some folks respond that way, and I certainly can't blame them. It's a bit disconcerting when you realize the "solid-as-a-rock" surface of the earth is moving.
