The fire is being fought with 374 people. Firefighters are continuing to extend a containment line on the fire's west side as a fire break for homes near the community of Kasilof (kah-SEE'-lawf). Fire officials say fire activity is expected to pick up Friday afternoon with predicted southwest winds of 6 to 12 mph gusting to 20 mph.

Not enough bodies... Just sayin... those little fires in San Diego had more bodies on them.
Aye, there's the rub (as Shakespeare said). We're a bit shy in that department.
Rev. Paul,
Hopefully the winds won't pick up.
I do hope they get some more people on that. I think we are hogging all of them on one of our fires that is burning near Sedona. We have over 900 firefighters. Our fire is about 8,500 acres.
JMD - acreage, we have lots of. People, not so much.
Evacuations ordered for residents near Sterling Highway between miles 103 and 105 per my kid. They are around mile 106. . .
Waiting. . .
Per KTUU they are being told to stay off Sterling highway south of Soldotna and instead use Kaliforinsky Beach Rd.
Just got a message from my daughter that they have retracted the evac for the night because the flames have died down???
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?????
As of 3:17 a.m. local, the evac order remains cancelled, but they're told to stay ready to move out again.
Winds were expected at up to 20 mph, but that didn't happen.
