URGENT CALL TO REPENTANCE: All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord. And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before Thee. For the Kingdom is the Lord’s and He rules among the nations. (Psalm 22:27-28)

That's One Way To Wake Up: 5.8 @ 6:16
6:16 a.m. ... 5.78 magnitude 'quake ... bed shakes ... house creaks ... time to put the coffee on.
Here in Texas, everybody has a rain gauge so you've got a topic for discussion. In Alaska, does everybody have a Richter Scale to keep track of earthquakes?
Ah, yes, one of those things I can now afford to be safely nostalgic about.
On the other hand, you don't get woken up at 2 in the morning with the tornado sirens wailing, and the cell phone going nuts on "Take Shelter Now!" So, I'm not certain I got the better end of the deal.
You've got better coffee to deal with it, too. Hope the day got better!

Is there a snooze button for earthquake?
gfa
Just the general purpose 'snooze', I'm afraid. Besides, it was time for coffee anyway. :)
Puts a new meaning into, "Shake a leg".
Bravo! Well done, sir!
Rockin and rollin eh??? And can't even 'blame' it on anything else... :-)
that's one heck of a way to wake up.
No noisy neighbors or anything, NFO. :)
You bet, Senior. But that's the way it rolls. Heh.
Glad it wasn't a 9.2! I have only been in two earthquakes and I am in no hurry for any repeats. Glad all of you are ok! Scary stuff.
Did it look like Kalifornia with people packin their bags to run?
JMD, no thank you! One of those every 500 years is plenty. :)
Preppy, no. We get so many earthquakes that anything less than a 6.5 doesn't bother us.

Glad everybody is ok, though.
No seismometers, juvat; just thermometers and rain guages. And a snow stick. :) But we've all bookmarked the two local sites which report on 'quakes.
Thanks.
There's just a leeeeetle part of me that would like to experience a tiny shake . . just for the experience.
Am I nuts ?
No, Cathy, not at all. It's definitely an interesting experience. :)

Better coffee: check.
Better remainder of day: check.
All good.
