Police Blotter - August Edition, Vol. I

A man who had days earlier reported that someone had entered his home and turned off his lights, reported that this time someone had entered his home and turned off his water while he was showering. An officer responded and contacted the tenant, the landlord and the landlord’s son, and learned that the landlord was upset about the utility bills for the residence. Both the tenant and the landlord were advised to settle the financial matter in a more amicable fashion.

Drug Law Violation
Friday 01 August 2014, 3:34 p.m.
UDPS administrators who were cataloging junked vehicles for impound noted a hat, glass pipe, lighter and baggie of what appeared to be marijuana on the seat of an apparently abandoned vehicle. The man who approached and demanded to know why police were looking at his vehicle admitted first that the hat was his, and then sheepishly that the drugs and paraphernalia were his as well. The items were seized for destruction.

A man reported having left several lights on his home when he left for work hours earlier, only to find upon his return that all the lights were off though nothing else was amiss. An officer advised the man to obtain a key to the locks on his door, and to use them.

Tuesday 29 July 2014, 7:50 p.m.
Out of town caller asked police to check on her husband, from whom she had not heard for almost ten whole hours. Officers located the man and then advised the woman that the man was at work, and had been for most of the day.

And yet another inebriate, this one walking in the middle of the roadway, was contacted by officers. The drunk was able to safely board his vessel, which was docked only a few feet away.

Officer contacted three different but also intoxicated men after watching two of the three men stumble and fall to the ground. The men were not injured and required no assistance meandering back to their respective rooms.

Officers contacted several men who were drinking and loitering around an allegedly disabled vehicle near Little South America. The men, all of whom were intoxicated, were advised not to drive this night.
