Enough Excitement Already

At 9:45 this morning, the janitor found a large, black suitcase tucked neatly under the stairs in my building, this morning. It wasn't there when I arrived at 0600.

It had a label for some company in Bristol, England ... and what immediately went through my head was all the recent stories about ISIS and Al-Qaeda fighters with US and UK passports, and how easy it's supposed to be for them to get into the country.

A 911 call later, APD removed the offending luggage and we all went back to work with a sigh of relief.

I have no idea what was in the suitcase, and don't really care to.

I'm ready for the weekend now.

That would have been my reaction.
Dang nab it.
What a crazy world we're living in.

Agreed, Cathy; I may never know whose it was, nor what was in it. All I care about is that it didn't go boom.

Oh yeah. The last couple times that happened in our building I went for a long lunch several blocks away. In the morning.

Rev. Paul,

Enough excitement here too.
I live not to far from where the attack at the grocery store occurred.

PH, that was the first time for that building. I've experienced from a slightly further distance at other facilities. No fun, either way.

Sandy, I wondered about that. I'm glad you're okay, too!

Just a few years ago we would all have thought nothing of such a find. Now, we have no choice but to react carefully. Every single day. Scary

BUT, I thought they didn't have terrorism in AK, except greenies damaging pipelines and polar bear attacks?

threecollie, that's true. Dang it.

Guffaw, I'm not sure where you got that idea, but - on the other hand - there's no indication that it was anything other than someone being lazy & leaving it there until they came back downstairs.
