More Pix From The Road

To the previous post, let me add some more pictures.

A sluice-box at El Dorado Gold Mine, north of Fairbanks. This working mine still extracts millions in gold every week.

The candy cane-shaped streetlights on Santa Claus Lane in North Pole, Alaska.

The Santa Claus House (store) in North Pole.

All the RVs, buses, and large buildings is the entrance to Denali National Park. Because huge mountains just aren't enough ... we must add man-made congestion and other eyesores.

Rev. Paul,

Great pictures. Did you stop and pan for gold?

Sandy, yes we panned for gold, and wound up with about $100 worth. :)

Panning for gold! Bucket list for me, although my folks have done it.

threecollie, it's fun, but you also get to find out how hard it would be to do that for a living - unless you're very, very lucky.
