Wisconsin Boy to Be Expelled for Icon of a Gun at On-Line School

An email from an 11-year-old student featuring a thumbnail avatar with a gun on an American flag resulted a rebuke from his student adviser instructing him to change it, conservative talk-radio host Vicki McKenna told her audience on her Friday show (see above YouTube video).

The boy, identified as “Matthew,” reportedly participates in “cyberschool” with the Northern Ozaukee School District, and was communicating with his school representative via Wisconsin Virtual Learning.

“Hello [redacted] did you have a great summer!” he greeted her.

“Hello Matthew,” the school representative identified as “Jan” replied. “Thanks for your email. Just wondering if you could do me a favor and change your profile picture. No guns in school, even virtual schools. Thanks a bunch.”

Per McKenna, no code of conduct violations currently exist prohibiting such imagery, but a policy change is being implemented by the school system to cover that, and violations could result in expulsion.

While it sounds like “Jan” could use a good virtual dose of Colace, the incident is really indicative of a much wider and pervasive phenomenon of institutional hoplophobia, made inevitable by the “zero tolerance” insanity embraced by the education establishment. True to the maxim that for “progressives,” every day is Opposite Day, when it comes to guns, the policy demanded under the rubric of “common sense safety” education is one of enforced ignorance.

So we see ridiculous manifestations crop up from time to time, the tip of the iceberg, really, when stories like the kid who got in official hot water for fantasizing about shooting his neighbor’s dinosaur get reported.

We see further ludicrous examples like kids getting into trouble for biting a Pop Tart into a gun shape, or drawing a stick figure gun, or having a gun photo on a laptop or a gun-shaped piece of paper, or wearing an “ offensive” t-shirt and even pointing a finger, or having a toy gun. And the addition of bubbles to the mix actually got one five-year-old branded a “ terrorist threat.”

Funny thing though. If a good brainwashed little Bloombergjugend engages in tax plunder-funded citizen disarmament propaganda, he can employ all the gun imagery he wants.

That’s a pretty far cry from the days before school shootings, when schools presumed the best way to educate was to ... uh ... educate.

I’ve observed before, this is nothing short of child abuse under color of authority. It’s also an insidious form of cultural brainwashing, where references to that which the founders deemed “necessary to the security of a free State” are erased from the collective memory. It’s mass purging, not all that dissimilar to a practice perfected by the murderous tyrant Stalin, as illustrated in “The Commissar Vanishes,” and which Orwell chillingly elaborated on with his description of “unpersons.”

If they have their way, the Second Amendment will become an “unright,” vanished from the history books.

That’s if we allow it.

From time to time, I promote something I call “Five-Minute Activism” on “The War on Guns” blog, easy to do and share tasks that promote the right to keep and bear arms. The situation in Wisconsin lends itself to doing just that.

“We love to see our smiling students!” Wisconsin Virtual Learning announces on its Facebook page.

“Share your first day pictures with us in the comment section below this post for the chance to win a WVL T-Shirt! All entries will be placed in a random drawing with one lucky winner! Good luck!”

“We love to see our smiling students!” they repeat on their Twitter feed. “Share your first day pictures with us in the comment section below this...”

Well, OK, then. Since they asked.

This is getting out of hand. You can't do anything with guns, but its ok to cross our borders unwelcomed. I like the plane two thumbs up.

Exactly, Guffaw. I'm afraid we're going to have to remind these folks just which country they live in.

I wonder if these morons allow maps of either Florida or Oklahoma in their schools. Take out an atlas, if you need to, to see why I'm asking.

joated - I suspect all "panhandle" states are off-limits to them. Since Alaska has one, that might account for why we're so frequently considered a foreign country, and overseas. Hmmph.
