Irritating, Exasperating, Maddening

My recollections go back to the 1960 debates between Kennedy and Nixon, just to establish the groundwork here. And I can truly state that this election is the most annoying, aggravating and trying cycle I can recall.

The mail contains a minimum of six flyers or cards, or both, daily. On Saturday, we got 22.
In addition, at least one person rings the doorbell every evening - usually during dinner - to talk about one issue or another.

Yes, there are a number of Very Important Issues at stake.

That is what's so. It's also so what.

We've known for months which candidates and issues we support, and neither of us feels like discussing it with temp workers who are getting $20 an hour to annoy us. Besides, those workers often freely admit they don't support the candidate themselves, stating, "It's just a job."

We haven't answered the door in a couple of months, now.

In fact, the only good thing about the election is that none of the campaigns have our phone numbers.

Wow. We get no one at our door . . but . . I sent money on-line. Now I get piles of fund-raising requests in my email-queue :(

Unplugged the phone tonight. Will replug it tomorrow night.

Cathy, my 82-year-old mother gets mail & e-mails like crazy, because she sent a few dollars here or there in the past.

DoninSacto - welcome! And I don't blame you. The blitz has tapered off sharply, here. After tomorrow, the peace should return.

Rev. Paul,

We have received so many flyers to pack our post office box. Instead of bringing them home, I just drop them in the post office recycle bin.

We will be REALLY GLAD to stop getting election related mail!
Of course, we still get other junk mail, and the Presidential Election is 2 years away!

:-(

Sandy, I wish that were an option. It's worth some thought, anyway...

Guffaw, way to keep a positive outlook, bub! :)

And I've noticed as I throw it away before leaving the PO that a lot of them are repeats. They didn't affect my vote the first time.

And I thought Dems were supposed to be greenies. A whole lot of their flyers going into land fills.

PH, we've received the same flyer from the Democrat senatorial candidate at least a dozen times in the last month. The only thing consistent about the Dimocritical campaign is its inconsistency.
