Police Blotter: the Holiday Edition

Liquor Law Violation
The husband phoned police to report that his wife was providing alcohol to minors, an allegation which officers were able to verify a short time later. [Name], 46 yoa and [name], 35 yoa, were both arrested on charges of Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor; [Name], 20 yoa, was arrested for Minor in Possession-Habitual Offender.

Harassment
A wife’s boyfriend told police that the wife’s husband was making unwanted phone calls to the wife. The intoxicated wife agreed that this was indeed so. The husband, irritated at being woken, said that the opposite was in fact true and that he was going back to sleep.

Assault
An extremely intoxicated homeowner told officers that he had woken up to find his friend pouring water on him and beating him “all over” his body. The homeowner was unable to say exactly where he had been struck, had no ostensible injuries and was in a room in which there was no apparent disarray. The suspect, who had already left by the time officers arrived, denied having assaulted anyone and told officers that the homeowner was extremely intoxicated, agitated and not fully aware of his surroundings. No substantive evidence of an assault was found.

Assault
An intoxicated young adult man reported that his mother, who as officers discovered was quite annoyed with her son’s drunken antics, had thrown a bottle of lotion at him, striking him in the genitals and causing a rather considerable amount of pain. The young man, who wished for neither medical care nor charges to be pressed, asked simply that his mother be told not to throw things at him anymore.

Welfare Check
A man who said he had no reason to believe his wife was in any danger asked that officers check on her. When questioned further, the husband eventually decided that his wife was diabetic and had not had her insulin shot in two days. An officer contacted the woman, who stated she was in no need of assistance and doesn’t take insulin anyway.

Ambulance Request
EMS personnel responded to the residence of a dipsomaniac who wanted help with his skin. He declined medical services after EMS arrived.

Thank you, Vicki. They would make most places seem peaceful, I think. :)

Rev. Paul,

The police officers up there were busy with mostly silly calls for the holidays. I think I would rather a silly call then something horrific.

Sandy, apart from the dangers of alcohol abuse, it does seem that most of their calls border on "frivolous" or at least fairly routine. I'm with you.

There is probably a great difference between the permanent year around residents and the visiting fishermen, excuse me, fisher-persons.

WSF, I think you're right. An awful lot of the reports center around some "crewman" or person(s) from Outside.
