Pushing Your Luck

There are some things a person would be well-advised to avoid: spitting into the wind, tugging on Superman's cape ... and then there's this:

(early summer 2014)

Testing where a yearling's personal space begins. And Mama won't be too far away; you can trust me on this.

NOT a good idea.

And yeah ... he got away with it. But you couldn't have paid me to get that close to a thousand pounds of skittish bull moose.

Seems to me I just read another blog about some woman who constantly hand-fed bears getting killed recently. Dear idjits - sometimes Darwin wins.

PH, after watching tourists and other recent arrivals in Alaska, I've become convinced that Darwin was a raging optimist.

During a trip to Yellowstone a few years back we say a bison strolling through the parking lot. As we headed indoors and watched some parents laugh as their span run up to the beast and slapped it on its rump.

I hoped those parents stopped breeding.

Sorry.

"Say" should have been "saw."

"Span" should have been "spawn."

Mobile screen bleh.

David, stupidity knows no bounds, it seems. Sadly, they're everywhere.

" . . . Darwin was a raging optimist." :)

Truer words were never spoken!

I've heard of people trying to put their children on a bison's back for a picture.

I just read David's account! True! True! Too True!

Thanks, Cathy, for both comments. David, take it from me: that's high praise. :)

Rev. Paul,

People just don't use common sense.

Ack! We looked for moose during our recent trip north. From the car, from the road, from afar!

Guffaw - I have to agree.

Sandy - no, they don't. "Common" sense is increasingly UNcommon.

threecollie - now THAT was wisdom.
