Iditarod Dog Killed in Traffic

when the three-year-old Scout ran into heavy traffic in mid-town Anchorage.

Scout wasn't on musher Lachlan Clarke's race team, but had been tied with the other spare dogs near the team's truck at Saturday's end-point.

"Stuart did not run in the ceremonial start Saturday morning in Anchorage. Instead, he  was waiting at the dog truck at the end of the route when he somehow got free from his chain, Linda Clarke said."

Guffaw - agreed.

Jenny - he was apparently a good sled dog in every respect but one: Lachlan says Scout wouldn't keep his head in the game. Inattention + traffic = sad story.
