Dallas Seavey was first into Shaktoolik, but Burmeister nearly flew through the checkpoint, stopping for less than 5 minutes.

Aliy Zirkle is hanging in there, but her team has been fading, and she's suffering from frostbite on her chin, among all the other tweaks, bumps, bruises, and fatigue experienced by all the mushers.

The -30° to -50° temps along the trail have taken a toll on all the mushers.

joated - unfortunately, that's northwest AK. We did have single-digit temps most of last week, but now it's warming up again.

Sandy - that's too cold for most folks. :)
