Lucky ... if it's rescued by Juneau's Capital City Fire Department.

All that water, and couldn't get a drop. |
After citizens called in its location, the Fire Department notified Fish and Wildlife. The blackie was anesthetized, and the jar was removed.
Oh, yes ... they said it was one of those clear, plastic animal cracker jars. Seems appropriate, somehow.

Space alien bear!
:)
The horse treats we buy come in a jar like that. One morning I went to the barn and found the neighbor's dog with his head stuck in an empty jar and about half suffocated to death.
I didn't need to tranq him to get it off though :)
Preppy, there's a pretty good chance your neighbor's dog didn't weigh 250 pounds, so the corresponding risk's a bit lower. :)
usually a bear with its head in a jar is named winnie ther pooh.
The bear was lucky it didn't fall in the river. Would have probably drowned if the jar fill up with water.
I am left without words....but laughing....
Deborah, this one didn't say "Hunny" on it, so I guess it's not Winnie after all.
Chickenmom, that's a very good point. I'm glad they got the jar off before the bear starved, or dehydrated, or drowned.
threecollie, I hear you. :)
Poor thing. I'm glad they could help it.
Me too, Catherine. I just hope they relocate the thing away from people & their trash.
Rev. Paul,
A smell of food, and the bear stuck his head in thinking he was getting something good. Instead he got his head stuck. Glad to hear Fish and Wildlife were able to remove the plastic container.
No one said bears were smart :-)
Sandy, clever enough to open trash containers, but not clever enough to realize they'd need thumbs to get the jar off.
Bear SCUBA!
gfa
Guffaw - a failed first attempt, anyway. :)
