Police Blotter: Hump Day Edition

Environmental
Caller reported illegal fishing activity on the Iliuliuk River. Officers responded and found the suspect fisherman as well as several silver salmon which had been stashed in the bushes and which the fisherman claimed were not his. Investigation turned over to AST.

Suspicious Person/Activity
Caller reported a young man kicking beer cans into Margaret Bay. Officers contacted the underage young man, who admitted to kicking the can in the water because it seemed trashy for it to be on the ground in front of the Grand Aleutian Hotel. He denied consuming beer or other alcohol.

Release Conditions
Court officials issued conditions of release allowing an inmate to leave the jail for the express purpose of obtaining bail money. The inmate left jail and returned two hours later without bail money, instead saying he had gone out to buy cigarettes.

Assistance Rendered
Officers responded after an unidentified caller reported a bloody male was in the bar and refused to leave. Officers found a highly intoxicated man who had, after threatening several bar patrons, been restrained on the gravel parking lot pending police arrival. He had, in the course of threatening several bar patrons and subsequently being restrained by willing participants, received some lacerations on his face. The bloody male was allowed to leave after the various involved parties declined to pursue charges.

Trespass
[A man], 32 yoa, was arrested on charges of Criminal Trespass II after witnesses reported him attempting to enter several parked vehicles before lodging himself in and refusing to leave a shuttle van.

Assistance Rendered
Officer provided courtesy transport to a stumbling drunk who had little money and a long way to walk.

Trespass
Homeowner asked that a man who was “bugging” her be given a trespass advisement for one year, then changed her mind and said he should be barred for only three months and finally, several hours later, changed her mind yet again and decided the man was welcome in her home.

Is the fleet in?

It's a bit early for that. They'll sail until the weather turns bad for the winter.
