Taking a Short Break

... this morning, that is.

I've been shoving the same six inches of a pair of wires into an overhead wire chase for the last 20 minutes. You know the kind of chase I mean, a flexible plastic channel with a slit on the side for the wires to be shoved into place. In theory, the slit is so narrow that the wires, once forced in, won't fall back out again.

This pair of wires, however, seems intent on proving the theory to be so much balderdash.

So, 15 feet from the end of the run, I've walked away before I start using a much more destructive tool on the whole assembly. :)

Update: after stopping for lunch, the rest went ... well, reasonably well. All is complete, and now we're going to sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labors.

Pass the popcorn, wouldja? Thanks.

Oh man, HATE wire chases... There are always at least TWO pairs of wires either coiled or wrapped to the point they block the chase... Don't envy you!

NFO, I did the first 30 feet of single wires in an hour. The last 25 feet, with a pair of wires, took 2 1/2 hours. On a ladder.

It sounds almost like the corrugated "split loom" stuff they use on cars.

At least you didn't have to pull it through conduit!

Jim, it was similar, but not corrugated. And no pulling, thank goodness.
