I mentioned on Election Day that a village in northwest Alaska was voting on whether to relocate, due to loss of their coastline.
I was referring directly to a story on the local NBC affiliate.
However, they identified the village of Kivalina in that story. Turns out it's Shishmaref. Same barrier islands, different village.
And yes, they did elect to relocate - but only by a slim margin.
I'll give more details when they become available. The article in today's paper is copyright by the Associated Press, which apparently thinks it owns the village. I'm sure they'd like me to link to their story.

So, they are only relocating by a small margin?
I don't know how far they're moving (probably to the mainland), but the vote was 83 to 78 for the move.
