I didn't have time to visit the Unalaska Police Blotter on Monday, so this is a bit late. Apologies, et cetera.
Drunk Disturbance
Caller reported a fight outside a local drinking
establishment. Officers responded to the area but found there was nobody
around. Investigation revealed two groups of individuals became
involved in a physical altercation that was quickly broken up. All the
involved left in different taxis. No injuries are suspected.
Sportfishing
Caller reported seeing an individual walking in a
closed area of the Iliuliuk Creek with a bag of salmon. An officer
contacted the individual who said he caught the salmon legally in an
open area of the creek. He was walking back to his residence via the
creek. The bag contained an appropriate number of Pink Salmon all of
which appeared to have been legally caught.
Welfare Check
Officers responded to assist an individual who was
reportedly sleeping on the sidewalk. After determining the clearly
intoxicated slumberer was able to care for himself, the officers
assisted him in finding his way home.
Welfare Check
Officers assisted an intoxicated individual, who
had previously been assisted to his home but had miraculously found his
way back to the exact same location in which he had been previously
found, in finding a place to sleep.
Domestic Disturbance
Officers were advised of an unknown female needing
assistance from an unknown location for an unknown reason. Screaming
could be heard in the background of the phone call. The officers were
able to narrow the possible locations and found the individual in
distress. Although no criminal activity was discovered, the female was
assisted in relocating to a safe location.
Assault
Officers responded to investigate a report of an
assault. [A man], 36 yo, was arrested for Assault 3rd degree after he
repeatedly hit and seriously bit an individual.
Traffic Roads
Caller reported an empty 55 gal barrel rolling
around on the roadway. The barrel was no longer in the area when the
officer arrived.
Suspicious Activity
Caller reported that vehicles were driving on the
walking path around the ballfield. An officer responded and discovered
that the vehicles were transporting items for the Polynesian Culture
Night at the Heart of the Aleutians Festival.
Domestic Disturbance
Officers responded to investigate a report of two
roommates having a physical altercation. The investigation revealed that
one of the roommates had assaulted the other. The assaulted party did
not wish to pursue the matter and his injury was slight. The DA’s office
was contacted and a non-arrest was authorized. The two were warned
about the Domestic Violence laws and moved to separate accommodations.
Assistance Rendered
Caller wanted the officers to check his company
housing for “unauthorized partying.” The officers responded and did not
find anyone partying, authorized or otherwise.

The first time I saw you post regarding UNALASKA, I thought it a joke!
"Captain, you canna mix Alaska and Unalaska!..."
I actually had to look it up...
Based on what I've read about Alaska, it does appear they are indeed one!
gfa
It's a real place; both the village, and the island. Could be worse ... it could be Eek. :)
I would consider Polynesian Culture Night in Alaska suspicious all by itself. :)
You shouldn't, Terry. We have a HUGE population of Pacific Islanders up here. I've never figured out why, though.
Hoo boy, another one of THOSE weeks...
They seem to be having a busy August.
♫ Rollin' rollin', rollin' - keep those barrels rollin' ♫
Chickenmom - are you a big a fan of Frankie Laine as I am? :)
Yep! :o)
That patch of concrete sidewalk must have been pretty darn comfortable.
Your Police must have a sense of humor!
Those on Unalaska must indeed be long-suffering & patient. The local cops in this part of the state ... I'm not so sure.
