Another Frosty Morning

It's 24° here at the new homestead, and everything in the open is frost-covered again. While I know we're not immune to it, there are so many trees here that the car windows have stayed unfrosted, thus far.

AccuHunch is still calling for the white, fluffy stuff by the middle of the upcoming week, although no one can agree on exactly when, nor how much. Estimates range from "snow showers" to "1 - 3 inches", depending on with which source you choose to roll the weather dice.

But it's sunny, now that the sun is up, and the skies are blue. I won't say "clear" simply because they've been growing ever-more hazy over the last several days. The mountains across the Knik Arm are no longer visible, and even those around us are hazy at about 6 to 8 miles away. That will change when the next system blows in, of course.

I've been to the gas station and ducked briefly into Wally World for new head/blade assembly for my electric razor. It's way to early for the Reavers, of course, and I'd rather not get et.

Me, shopping at Wal-Mart. Okay, I exaggerate. A little.

Brrr... :-) You're WELCOME to keep all that stuff up there! :-)

Just for you, NFO, we'll hang onto the cold air. At least for now... :)

Rob, 49 is warmer than we'll be, barring a freak weather system. It's only supposed to 34 here, tomorrow.

Hahaha!

I wouldn't bet on it being too early, with all the Christmas stuff on display.

Linda - in general, the folks for whom shopping at Wally World is the height of cultural experience tend not to get there much before 10:30.
The rest of us generally go early, and try to finish before then.

Yeah, Wally World is almost always a surreal experience.

The petit one, about 2 mi North, is where my pharmacy is. Sadly, diet soda is rarely stocked when I shop, so I must go to
The REALLY HUGE Walmart, about two mi. West. Between the extensive walking required (where I am sometimes limited) and the influx of folks from the neighboring Latino/Indian town (where the store sometimes appears as a gang convention or foreign city) it can be a challenge!
At least the soda is always stocked when I shop there!

Starting this week, the winter survival backpack gets loaded into my work vehicle. October blizzards are not that rare along the Front Range.

Understood, Guffaw. Several years ago, there was an article in the local fishwrapper, er, paper which said the Anchorage school system was struggling to deal with students who spoke 187 different dialects. I kid you not. Have I mentioned Anchorage is a sanctuary city? Another reason why we're glad to have moved away.

WSF, mine travels with me year-round. Between blizzards, wild fires, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, we never know what we'll be dealing with, next.

How disappointing to know that Anchorage is a sanctuary city. I would not have expected that of Alaska.

I try to go either really early or really late when I go to Wally world; but I find as I get older, I prefer to shop somewhere else when I can.

Be safe and God bless you all.

Linda, 2/3 of the residents of Anchorage are from elsewhere. One of things we say about that city is "the best thing about it is, it's only a short drive from Alaska." Most Anchorage residents haven't ever traveled outside of the city, either.

Unfortunately, the left-coast liberals are busily turning it into a carbon copy of the places they left, especially Seattle and/or Portland. It's crazy.

It is disgusting that they don't like California, so they leave, then ruin whatever they touch where they go.
So sad.
