Another Week Begins

Good morning, America! Who's offended by what, today? :^)

It's overcast and 14°, with yet another dense fog advisory in effect. Not that it's any big deal ... the weather will do whatever it wants, and we adapt accordingly.

AccuHunch guesses we'll have a couple of normal days before the next cold front arrives, mid-week. Lows in the double-digits-below-zero, and so on. Then another round of snow moves in. Again, nothing out of the ordinary.

Younger Daughter needs a new bed, so that's an afternoon's drive into Anchorage. This morning, after those things which are needful, we'll head out for the breakfast-all-day buffet at our favorite local grill. Then we'll head south to the big city. Not my favorite place to spend a Sunday afternoon, but it's where we find the store which has the bed she wants.

A quick glance at this morning's headlines leaves me wondering how much long the local paper can stay afloat, if that's all they could find to publish. Ah well, it's not my problem.

Mostly, we've just had a leisurely morning, coffee in hand, as we marvel once again at the wonderful home the Lord has provided, and at how beautiful the mountains and forest are. Do I sound like I'm bragging? Not at all; just grateful for the Lord's provision.

I think I'm going to do things not revolving around the computer today. I pray each of you has a relaxing, refreshing and rewarding day today. Thanks for stopping by, friends.

Padre, i hope you travels today went smooth. Every morning I give thanks for another day with my family, and life in general. I have grown so tired of the games that are growing larger then they need be...

Rev Paul,
I'm curious about your header photo's. Did you take them, every one of them is great! Thanks for sharing your world.

I wonder about most newspapers now. Surely with the Interweb there is not much call for the "paper" anymore. I honestly can't remember the last time I looked at one. The Ravishing Mrs. TB gets the Thanksgiving paper for the ads, but that is the only one we buy.

Rob, the drive into/out of Anchorage - both times - went well enough. Some of the other drivers were more bone-headed than average, but there weren't many on the road. I guess the sheeple stayed home to watch the big game ... for which fact I'm grateful.

Mike, most of them, but not all. I "borrow" some from friends, and occasionally find a few public domain-types on the interwebz. Thank you for your kind words.

TB, the local fishwrapper is about 60% of the length & width, and about half the volume of what we had 15 years ago. They're attempting on-line subscriptions now; will be interesting to see how that goes.

Rev. Paul,

It always feels good to accomplish tasks, and sit back and enjoy a meal with your family. Good to hear your weekend was relaxing.
