Words of Wisdom

When a talking woman sits quiet, a man had better look at his hole card and keep a horse saddled.
~ Louis L'Amour, Ride the Dark Trail

When a woman says "What?", it isn't because she didn't hear you. She's giving you a chance to change your answer.

"Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired."
~Jules Renard

"I might repeat to myself slowly and soothingly a list of beautiful quotations from minds profound - if I can only remember any of the damn things."
~Dorothy Parker

"What's the use of a good quotation if you can't change it?"
~Doctor Who

Hubby read that apparently there will be another Doctor. I am curious to see how they do this, since this current incarnation was only possible by everyone in the universe calling him to duty in the last Dalek invasion -
which, if he keeps destroying them all as foreseen by Dalek Khan, or whatever his designation was - I'd like to know how they keep coming back, also.

I still find it odd that "wibbly, wobbly, timey-wimey" caught on as it did.

Good collection of sayings. Hope you all have a blessed weekend, Reverend. ^_^

Linda, in a nutshell: the Doctor has 12 remaining regenerations. A "regeneration cycle" grants a Time Lord 13 lives. At the end of the centuries-long war on Trenzalore, the Time Lords granted the Doctor a new cycle.

And it always seems that there is some small enclave of Daleks hidden away, biding their time & rebuilding numbers, until they are ready to pounce. Convenient, that. :)

Ah. Okay. I obviously didn't understand that part on regeneration well enough. I was under the impression the current doctor was a special occurrence.
Good to understand.

And yes. Convenient, haha. ^_^

Dr Who?

Rev. Paul said...

Exactly. But he never abbreviates "Doctor". After all, any other is just a doctor, whereas he's THE Doctor: the definitive article. :)

Been a fan of The Doctor since about 1976 when they started airing the program on PBS back in Chicago.

And yes, COFFEE has made me feel much better today, and given me enough energy to clean up the kitchen as my poor little wife is recuperating from whatever it was that waylaid both of us....

Glad you're feeling better, Jim - it's a horrible virus. My dose of it wasn't nearly as bad as most others', for I'm grateful for that. And I'm glad to hear you were able to lean on coffee for some energy during the day. Coffee is our friend. Heh.
