Today's forecast calls for "copious" rain this afternoon. They guess that some places locally could see more than 1.5 inches. That's a lot, for here.

The same system caused a mudslide on Sheep Mountain, some 100+ miles to the northeast, washing cars down a hillside. It's supposed to arrive here later this afternoon or evening.

We're as ready as we can be, but since we live on a shoulder on the mountainside, things could get exciting.

Guess we should have started that ark a tad sooner...

You expect the mudslide or the rain?

Rev. Paul said...

Could be both, Ed; we hope it's only the rain.

I was going to make a silly remark about the wildlife getting in line, two by two, but when faced with rain and mudslides, it really is nothing to joke about. Praying for the safety of you and yours.

The joke is appreciated nonetheless, Vicki. :)
Our lot is moderately level, despite the steep slopes nearby, so I'm not worried.

One more bear and you have two of those. ;-)
Hopefully the bear is long gone, looking to get away from the weather headed your way.
And hopefully you will all be safe.(Or you are all safe.)
A blessed Sunday to you all, Reverend.

Linda, we weathered the rains okay, so all is well (if soggy) this morning. Thank you. :)
