Grandpa God?

A friend just read a passage in an inspirational message: "....you can't get to heaven on someone else's coattails...." and asked me to write about it.

It's true: God doesn't have grandchildren. No nieces or nephews; no aunts, uncles, or anything other than sons and daughters.

The Bible says we are created to be sons and daughters. Galatians 3:26 says, "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."

You can't get to Heaven on someone else's salvation. Each of us has to meet the Lord ourselves, and we must each make the conscious decision to invite Him to come in. It's a relationship thing.

We have to remember that Jesus wasn't sent to us to establish a religion. He came to repair the relationship between God the Father and mankind. We ALL need to take that step of faith, asking God to help us, forgive us, and save us from sin ... and from ourselves.

A good reminder Reverend, that it is a personal decision as well. No-one can make it for you, and no-one can go based on the decision of another.

Thanks, TB - that's exactly it.

Amen. So very true.
Though I have always wondered about "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house." Acts 16:31.

Thank you for this, Reverend.

Linda, that other Paul wrote that Christian women with unsaved husbands should remain with them (barring abuse), as the husbands are set aside & reserved for a Christian future. But they still had to take the offer.

Your favorite band might grant you an all-access backstage pass, but you still have to go to the box office & claim it. :)

It's my pleasure, Linda. I'm glad it helped.
