The Sound of Thunder ... and More

So we experienced something last night that hasn't happened but once before, since we've been in Alaska: a thunderstorm with a steady downpour which lasted for quite awhile.

We've heard thunder in the distance several times, since moving into the mountains, but hadn't seen lightning in years.

There was also a gunshot around 6 pm, shortly before the rain started. We looked at each other and said, "Someone just ran off a bear." No one stopped mowing grass, or whatever they were doing. Life just went on.

Gotta love Alaska. :)

(Recording made toward the end of the storm, after the rain let up a bit.)

One of the pleasures we have had since we moved 8 years ago is thunderstorms. I really enjoy them.

Me too, TB. It's just that they happen so infrequently here - like once every six years or so.
