God's Word for Monday, 8/21/17

When my soul is in the dumps, I rehearse everything I know of you, From Jordan depths to Hermon heights, including Mount Mizar. Chaos calls to chaos, to the tune of whitewater rapids. Your breaking surf, your thundering breakers crash and crush me. Then God promises to love me all day, sing songs all through the night! My life is God’s prayer.
Psalm 42:8 MSG

I don't remember reading this before. A little scary; but good, too. Thank you, Reverend.

I don't remember it either.

Here's the King James translation: "Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
Psalm 42:8"

That's the problem with new translations sometimes. Eh?

Believe it or not, Ed, it's the problem with the old translation. We know so much more Hebrew and ancient Greek now, that the 400-year-old translation is sometimes inadequate. I actually like the Amplified Bible a lot, because it gives all of the possible definitions for each word.

Thank you, Reverend. That is a bit more understandable to me. :-)

I'm glad it helped, Linda.
