God's Word for Wednesday, 8/23/17

Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If God hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.

Psalm 94:18-19 MSG

Praise the Lord. I thank Him, and I thank you, Reverend.

This came up as well from our speaker this weekend. He pointed to Paul, who said that all had abandoned him but the Lord stood with him in his defense. The point he was making was that God is always with us, even if we ourselves do not realize He is in the situation.

Excellent point, TB. Many Christians fail to see the Lord at work, particularly in times of trouble, until someone else points out the evidence to them.
