God's Word for Thursday, 9/21/17

Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it. I hope the test won’t show that we have failed. But if it comes to that, we’d rather the test showed our failure than yours. We’re rooting for the truth to win out in you. We couldn’t possibly do otherwise.
We don’t just put up with our limitations; we celebrate them, and then go on to celebrate every strength, every triumph of the truth in you. We pray hard that it will all come together in your lives.

2 Corinthians 13:5-9 MSG

Good post. How do we do that, though?
Thank you, Reverend.

Remember what the other Paul said: "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14 Amp.)

In other words, forget yesterday's failures or shortcomings. Just keep on keeping on. :)

Good morning.
So glad you sent me this link, and are posting again.
I have it bookmarked, and will read it daily.

We are sitting at 34 deg with a slight drizzle. It has already snowed on the Denali Hwy. Snow is in the forecast.

Take care, be safe.
God bless.
Griz

Welcome back, Griz. It's 43 here, but the nearby peaks have had snow cover for several weeks. Definitely getting close to winter here, too.

I wish it was 43 here! We are unseasonably warm this time of year. 90 today.

Thank you for the clarification, Reverend. :)
