God's Word for Friday, 1/12/18

You have all become true children of God by the faith of Jesus the Anointed One! It was faith that immersed you into Jesus, the Anointed One, and now you are covered and clothed with his anointing. And we no longer see each other in our former state—Jew or non-Jew, rich or poor, male or female—because we’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us.
Galatians 3:26-28 TPT

Now, this would only apply to Christians? Because I am confused with this, and the churches and Pope with regards to homosexuals, et al; women bishops, etc.

Linda, this passage applies precisely to Christians only, and no one else. It is we who have accepted Jesus as our Savior and the Lord of our lives. We, as Christians, are differentiated from non-believers. The verse does not refer to vocations, ponderings about gender or sexuality, nor man-made rules invented by various denominations.

Jesus didn't come to establish a denomination; sorry to anyone who believes otherwise. He came to repair the broken relationship between God and Man. This verse applies only to those of us who now have the right to boldly approach the throne of God with our prayers and petitions.

Linda, if it at all helpful (it has been helpful to me) read 1 Corinthians 6:9-13. Paul makes it clear that he talks about not associating with sinners (as Christ did as well) he referring to those who call themselves saved and of Christ but continue to act as if they were the world's:

"I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with immoral men; not at all meaning the immoral of this work, or the greedy and robbers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But rather I wrote to you not to associate with any one who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or robber - not even to sit with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. 'Drive out the wicked person from among you.'"
