God's Word for Tuesday, 1/22/19

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8 KJV

“Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened."
Matthew 7:7-8 AMP

I can testify to this one as being absolutely true.

I am constantly asking, sometimes for me, but usually for patients or family or other folks who are in need. I figure if enough of us ask, God gets tired of being pestered, throws up His hands, and says "All right, already. Make it so". Sounding like Captain Picard. Sorta.

I like this one. And the one about when a door closes, a window is opened. Experienced that one a bunch of times also. I figured they are related.

Suz, I really don't think God gets tired of hearing from His children, but I also know you're speaking tongue-in-cheek. :)

And yes, His answers are frequently not what we're expecting. But the really exciting part is that He answers every prayer.

Which means get off your ass and DO something. More need to learn that they must actually do things to get things... sigh

So if I ask for warmer weather, it shall be given. I can live with that. But in my maturing years, I have grown restless with having to wait. LOL. Sorry Padre, my sarcasm is out of control. I have been asking for some issues to be resolved for the family. One came through today. While to some it may seem small, but to us it was needed.

While I may not read his words as much as some do, I do talk with him daily, and have learned to be patient.

Spot on, NFO. Martin Luther is quoted as saying, "I pray as if it's all up to Him - and then I work as if it's all up to me." The Lord won't do it for us, but He sure does get it done when we let Him use us as a vessel.

Rob, I hear you. And while it's important to know the Word of God (to know what He says about us, what He has promised to do, etc), it's every bit as important to know the God of the Word. :)

A belated thank you fot this, Reverend.
God bless.
Patience is hard, I do agree with Rob on that.
I am very thankful for His love and mercy.

You're entirely welcome, Linda.
