Monday Morning

It's a cold day out there, with -2 degrees 8 above & light snow (as of 6:25) at my place, and a forecast high of only about 15 above. We'll see what else the day might bring; the low temps are usually dependent upon clear skies, so maybe we'll get some of that elusive sunshine that I was crying about yesterday!

In local politics: Our congressional delegation in the U.S. Senate is split along party lines. Lisa Murkowski (R) says that the spendulus stimulus package doesn't address her concerns, and therefore she won't support it.

On the other hand, Sen. Murkowski did vote to confirm Eric Holder as Attorney General, and because of his background during the Clinton years, many fear he will not support our Constitutional rights, especially the 2nd Amendment. Many of us are NOT happy about her doing that. But I digress.

So I've decided that it's going to be a beautiful, productive day, and all's right with the world today. I'm not going to let things get to me today - and today is all we have, so it will be good!

Be of good cheer, folks, and smile: it makes 'em wonder what you're up to!

  1. It's an odd day when it's a whole lot warmer in Anchorage than it is where I live.

I'll look forward to reading about your life up there. I spent a summer in Bettles once, traveling here and there in a floatplane, and miss the State and its people very much.

Best to you and your family,
    B.

  2. Welcome, Brigid! I've just recently been made aware of your blog, but have come to respect your writing greatly. I forwarded your "Five Rounds of Self Defense" to both my daughters, too. Thank you for that.
