It's a Duck

It was raining, foggy, and 45 degrees overnight. If this continues, it won't be long before we see the first snow on the peaks above town.

As I listened to the rain gently falling, and let my mind wander, I could almost pretend there's nothing wrong in the world. But reality keeps rearing its ugly head. There are some questions that bother me deeply, and I sincerely want to know the answers.

I suspect that there's another major change in the economy just around the corner, and not for the better. Anyone who's been reviewing the various reports would have difficulty drawing a more favorable conclusion. We owe too much, the economy is still slowing down, unemployment is only static if you accept the .gov's altered record-keeping, and it's commonly accepted that the .gov is out of money. The president even admitted it's so.

I don't pretend to understand how we can just print more money (devaluing that which is already in circulation), borrow more (when we can find anyone dumb enough to lend it to us), and talk about asking the willing accomplices in Congress to raise the debt ceiling so we can be ... well, more broke than we already are. Broker? Brokerer?

On the other hand, I've been hearing an awful lot of talking political heads explaining why we need to spend more money to get out of debt. This is patently tripe, and almost everyone knows it.

The part that I find most puzzling, though, is that all the elected nannies know that we're onto their schemes, and yet they don't care. You'd almost think that they have an ulterior motive ... an alternate plan for when the economy crashes ... another way to remain in control when the .gov is officially bankrupt.

They couldn't possibly be intending to let the current establishment collapse around them, so they can do something else, could they? Well, yes, they could. Use your imaginations, folks, and think about the framework which they've been building for the last several years. The only thing the current administration has done is to speed things up. Have you asked yourself why?

Think about the militarization of local law enforcement; the "fusion centers" where local, county, state, and federal police agencies are blended together. Yes, I know that "they" say there's a better sharing of resources and information that way. Remember when people used to tell their kids, if they were ever lost or in trouble, to ask a cop for help? When was the last time you felt safe talking to a cop? I bet it was when they still wore a regular uniform.

I DO NOT malign local law enforcement. These men and women lay their lives on the line every time they report to work.

But what's the deal with all these special units and task forces? It's hard to get a warm fuzzy while looking at a guy who is either a ninja or a Special Forces operative, masks, black clothes, black gear and all. Never mind the kids; these alphabet paramilitary police agencies scare adults. "No knock" warrantless searches? You don't have to read many reports at "War on Guns" to get a bellyfull of such incidents.

Think about how the .gov has been asking military recruits to declare that they'd have no problem firing on their countrymen in the event of an uprising. That's been going on since the Clinton years; nothing new here. But really? Fire on civilians? If you're too young to remember Kent State, look it up. It traumatized an entire generation of young adults, and those about to enter adulthood. I was one of those. Look it up, folks. Then look at the faces of those attending the town hall meetings. Boomers? Oh, yes - the same ones who watched in horror as National Guard troops murdered students on a college campus.

And the talking heads wonder aloud, vacuously, about how these private citizens could mistrust the Lightbringer.

Think about the "national security force that's just as strong, just as powerful, just as well funded" as the military. Ask yourself why we need anything remotely like that.

Ask yourself again why ACORN and whatever other alphabet organization needs to do a pre-census census. Ask yourself by what authority they might do that. Ask yourself why they're plotting the GPS location of every single dwelling in the country. And ask yourself what answer you will give when they knock on your door.

I'm not accusing any particular agency of wrong-doing. But we have the right to inquire, and to find out what's going on. When the biggest government in our nation's history accuses regular citizens of being terrorists, and is arming itself for war while looking inward, we have the right - and the responsibility - to ask why.

So do the math, and see what you come up with. I've been wrong before, and I pray to God I'm wrong now.

But something in this country feels very, very wrong - and when it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck ...

Bless you, Rev. Paul, it IS a duck!
There is something very wrong in this country.

I join you in hoping and praying. I am praying we find a way to avoid what appears to be the inevitable.

You realize you make way to much sense and that will not be allowed. I hate to think what will happen should I ever hear a "knock on the door"!

Rev Paul -

You cite one "increased security" measure and it is cheered as a tool for a stronger national defense...

You cite two "increased security" measures and it is dismissed as coincidence...

You cite multiple "increased security" measures and link them, and you are derided as a conspiracy nut...

Let me tell you, sir, that I too have reported on these "strings of coincidences" and the odds are not in our favor.

Try driving 5 blocks in any US city and not be under video surveillance. There is a camera at every stop light.

Try making a cell phone call that is not recorded - oh yeah... it is happening under the Patriot Act.

And I agree with you... Obama isn't doing away with these "Bush Doctrines", rather he is embracing them... using them to a global advantage of crushing any opposition from within... private security force my eye... damn brown shirts!

@Spook - I don't endorse the "death to the tyrant" approach, but rather "death to tyranny."
