Monday in the Great Land

As another week begins, it must be Monday: the Daily Puppy Trainer & Fish-wrap News is full ... nay, chock full of stories about:

  • the joy of skiing with classic wooden skis
  • a Siberian scientist trying to re-create the ice age
  • Sarah Palin's book tour and the will she/won't she run speculation
  • a Pennsylvania museum has been ordered to turn over a bunch of Hoonah Tlingit artifacts to the tribe (Hoonah's a village in the Panhandle)
  • and oh, yeah, as an afterthought, they want to mention a State court is to have a hearing this afternoon on Miller vs. Alaska Secretary of State regarding the vote count.
That last item isn't on the front page, nor at the top of the political section. It's buried part of the way down the page. Not a great surprise from Anchorage's left-leaning daily rag. But the opinion bashing the Palins in generation, and Bristol Palin in particular? That made a headline on the Sunday editorial page. Of course.

But because God is still God, and still in charge:

Well, then. It's 9 degrees at my place this morning, with a forecast high of 20. And then there's this: "North wind 15 to 30 mph. Occasional gusts to 40 mph near the inlet. Blowing snow near the inlet."

Well then ... I'd better decide which jacket to wear. It's going to be chilly out there.

The media is really showing its bias against Miller. It really is incompetent.

I continue to be astounded at the absolute vitriol pointed at the Palins - especially the children. Not only is it creepy, it's scary. It's become pathological.

Much as Bush was reviled, they mostly left his kids alone. What is the bent and twisted logic of these people that they must bash the Palins - all of them - even the kids. Weird.

Love the vid.
