A few minutes before sunset, Waikiki |
Sunset from Paradise Cove, Ko'olina, Oahu |
Hawaii Five-0 was filming in front of the Supreme Court building - that's the one with the statue of King Kamehameha out front, and the one they pretend is the Five-O headquarters. |
The view from my hotel balcony, just before sunrise |
Hanauma Bay, where the tourists go snorkeling |
Kaneohe Bay |
Diamond Head and the east half of Waikiki Beach, from a mile offshore |
Waikiki Beach at night, from our balcony |
The same view in the daytime |
Sunset |

Waikiki Beach, just outside our hotel |

It looks SO beautiful - but (5-0 aside!) isn't crime rampant, being a Pacific Rim-influenced region with a rich tourist area surrounded by many folks just scraping by?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Rampant crime? Not that I'm aware of, sir.
Where do the LOCAL's go snorkeling?
Wherever they wish, Ed. :)
Man, those brought a smile. Winter just doesn't want to let go.
I'm glad they helped, ma'am. We've not had much winter this year, but it's still warmer there than here.
Rev. Paul,
Very pretty pictures! One day hubby and I will go. We want to see the volcano's.
I'm sure you'd enjoy it, Sandy. I suppose it's possible to have a bad time in Hawaii, but you'd have to work at it. :)
Beautiful! And you can still look at mountains!
Good to hear!

Chickenmom, Honolulu and Anchorage have a kinda/sorta similarity: both are enlongated cities built between the mountains and the coast. Our mtns are higher, but theirs are a LOT greener. :)
Guffaw, it's probably not such a big deal for someone who lives in a hot climate already, but it's purty.
