Early Autumn

... in the Frozen North (what my niece used to call it).

I took this pic around 0700. 49 degrees, raining (both water and leaves). There's snow on the higher mountaintops around us. And AccuHunch thinks we'll be having lows in the 30s by the end of the upcoming week.

In other words, it's late August in southcentral Alaska.

On schedule with snow for Halloween. ;-)
I remember when hubby and I were stationed there in the late 70s. Ot was unusual if you DIDN'T have snow by Christmas.

We are still mid to upper 90s down here.

Enjoy and God bless.

We have only failed to have snow by Halloween once in 15 years. This year, it might be quite a bit sooner.

I definitely feel Fall in the air here, something I rarely did in SoCal.

And I think the dog senses it, too.

Over 100 again today... sigh...

I'd be surprised if you didn't feel Fall at your elevation, Jim. You're about 4,000 ft higher than we are. Of course, we're a thousand-plus miles farther north, so it all evens out. :)

NFO, you have my sincere sympathy. The 88 and 90-degree highs in Missouri last weekend were plenty hot enough for us.

High 90's all week this week and well into...let us call it October.

I long for this under 50 F weather you speak of...

TB, you have my sympathy, too. That's just too darned hot for civilised folk.

I know better then to make fun of your weather. Why?? It could head our way...;)

Rob, you might well beat us to it. AccuHunch has waffled on the temps here, and it'll be warmer than they first predicted.
