Thursday Night: The Update

The temperature has been climbing (slowly) all day, and it's up to 23 here. It's also snowing sideways, with snow mist - and I didn't even know there was such a thing.

Mt. Redoubt has quaked rather suddenly, twice today. Still no eruption, though. It's enough to get everybody excited all over again.

There's a king-sized mama moose who, along with her two calves, have been munching the flora around our parking lot. They've been in hiding for the last couple of days. I wonder if she knows something we don't ...

It's snowing so hard right now that it looks foggy out there; my kind of weather! The worse it gets, the better I like it. Fresh batteries in the flashlights and emergency radio, dust masks in case of volcanic ash, full tanks of gas in both vehicles, extra food in the pantry ... bring it on!

Several of my tenants inquired, earlier this week, if I could arrange for the volcano to erupt on Thursday afternoon. I laughed and asked them why. They replied, "So we can have a long weekend!"

See, if there's ash, we'd have to shut down the HVAC in the building, so no one would be open for business. Dreamers, one and all!

Can't say as I blame them, though. Long weekends are nice.

  1. Your tenants are not thinking properly. Let it erupt late Sunday. That should be good for two, three days at least. All tacked on to the usual Saturday and Sunday days off. (You have to be a school teacher plotting the weather movements to really understand when it is best to have the BIG ONE hit.)

Now, with next weekend being Presidents' Day weekend coming up on the 14th, 15th, and 16th you tell 'em to get out her this week under the Full Moon and dance to the volcano gods. AND that they have to do so in the nood. (Hey! If Redoubt doesn't erupt they could call in sick with pneumonia.)
