Wednesday in the A.M.

Good morning. It's Governor Palin's birthday today, so "Happy Birthday, Sarah!"

I have 7.7 degrees at my place, with a wind chill of about 5 below. AccuHunch says snow will be blowing in from the southwest (that could mean a lot, but they don't think so). However, our wind is out of the NNW at present.

I heard from both of the people I used to work with, this week, and will be having lunch with Mike next Monday. It'll be nice to hear what's been going on with him, as we haven't met since October.

Alaska news: * the Attorney General resigned yesterday, citing ongoing political hostility in Juneau as a primary reason for his departure. * An Anchorage policeman ran into a baby moose on his way home from work, last night; he needed some stitches. His patrol car needs a new windshield and body work. * The snowmachine racers on the Iron Dog trail have encountered temps as low as -50 on their way to Nome. After a brief rest, they'll be heading east to Fairbanks.

Mt. Redoubt is apparently quaking & shaking continuously, but hasn't erupted yet. We're keeping a weather eye on the old gal, but going about our business as usual.

Y'all have a great day, and come on back.

Did the AG say from where this political pressure was coming? Or about what he was being pressured? Be the better part of the story, I would think.

In a copyright update in today's Daily News, it says, "Colberg was under intense pressure from state legislators of both parties. They were furious at his attempt to quash legislative subpoenas in last fall's investigation of whether Palin abused her power and pressed for the firing of an Alaska State Trooper who was her former brother-in-law.

"It is a harsh political environment right now. You saw what he went through these last couple of weeks with speculation that a couple of the lawmakers wanted to continue to grill him, a couple of the lawmakers not believing, it seems, what he had to say," Palin said in an interview."
