Speculation Runs "Rampant"? (updated)

The Seattle Times reported yesterday - and the local news today - that "speculation is rampant" about Lisa Murkowski attempting to keep her Senate seat by running as a third-party candidate in November. Someone ... that mysterious someone ... asked the Alaska Libertarian Party what they'd think about it. They of course replied they'd be thrilled to have her on their ticket.

That somehow translated as "ZOMG she's gonna run as a Libertarian!!!One!" In the meantime, the RNSC is sending its so-called top attorney here to monitor the ballot counting. This all points to the following:
  • She's every bit the RINO we knew she was, which is why Joe Miller got more votes.
  • The Libertarians are every bit as crazy as many thought they were, since Sen. Murkowski is much more "centrist" than "libertarian".
  • The RNSC is tacitly implying that Alaska's vote count might be less than honest - an insult, if you will, as this is not Michigan nor Illinois. We tend to do things a bit more straight-forward, here.
  • The Republicans are willing to file suit if their fair-haired candidate comes in 2nd. This also tells us something about the status quo establishment of the D.C. crowd, too, since you'd think the stronger Republican candidate would get the GOP's support, rather than them simply supporting the current seat-holder above all else. You'd be wrong.
Since the absentee ballot count put Mark Begich over the top in his victory over Ted Stevens in 2008, perhaps they think the same thing may happen again. While it's possible, it leads to one other conclusion (in case you didn't already know): there's not a nickel's worth of difference between the Democrat Party and the GOP.

Do ya think maybe that's why the majority of us voted for Joe Miller in the first place? Hmm?

In other news:
TRAPPER CREEK -- A small plane landed safely Wednesday afternoon on the Parks Highway before crashing into a road sign and rolling into a ditch north of Trapper Creek, troopers say.
There were no injuries, and the State Troopers report that the plane was already on the ground before it sustained damages.

As Joated commented on one of yesterday's posts: forget the precipitation; it's raining airplanes. I'm very happy that these folks weren't hurt. I've had to use "plane crash" in post labels way too often, this summer.

One other note: it's raining again, but we had nine days of sunshine, so I won't complain ... much.

Jeez, Trapper Creek is suddenly a happening place! What with pizza loving bears getting shot upon break in and planes landing on the highway and all. Sounds like this was, indeed, one of those "good landings" wherein the plane occupants got to walk away.

The NRSC is a joke and has failed to learn anything from its constant stream of defeats this year. I quit donating to them and the national party and have been sending my limited resources directly to the candidates.

I think one thing the media is missing is how much money the Tea Party Express has raised for conservative candidates all over the Republic. This used to be where the Democrats ruled. No longer, we have our own effective groups now.
